About The Area
I began fishing the eastern basin of Lake Ontario in 1986. Prior to that, the southern shore was as far as I'd ventured. The Eastern shore of Lake Ontario is a premier hot spot for trout, salmon, walleye and bass. There are several rivers, the Black, Salmon, Little Salmon, and North and South Sandy creek, and all are in very close proximity of each other, all of which are spawning grounds, which makes them easily accessible on any given trip. The underwater structure, which is the source, and the beginning of the 1000 Islands, this structure holds some of the best Smallmouth Bass fishing you'll find anywhere. For decades, Henderson Harbor has been known as "The Black Bass Capitol of the World" As you can see by the pictures and with all this structure, walleye fishing couldn't be better. Parts of the area are a "Back Eddie" for the St. Lawrence seaway, which in turns makes this area, a sought after place for the absolute best fishing.
